TRY SHOOTING
Thank you for your interest in the sport of Rifle Shooting.
The below information is provided for you to better understand our Try Shooting Programme.
We cater for both males and females over the age of 12.
Our Programme is based over three Saturdays only (which do not need to be consecutive), whereby you will experience:
First Visit:

A safety briefing, including some specific documentation, please see note at bottom of page.

On the range you will be briefed on range procedures, our electronic targets and you will also observe range operations.

You may then undertake two shooting stages each of 10 shots. You may choose either open sights or telescopic sights.
Second Visit:

You will need to complete the paperwork again and a short follow-up safety briefing.

You may then undertake two shooting stages each of 10 shots. You may choose either open or telescopic sights.
Third Visit:

You will need to complete the paperwork again and a short follow-up safety briefing.

At the completion of the days shooting you will be asked about your intentions in joining and pursue the sport, this will include committing to join our club and commence the license process. More information is available here.
At the end of each day's activities you are most welcome to attend the club house for a social afternoon and for the reading of the days scores.
What to bring:

A government issued photo identification (Drivers License or Passport).

Hearing protection.

As we are outside for the majority of the afternoons activities sun protection or wet weather gear.

A chair.
Do not bring:

Firearms or ammunition, (unless otherwise discussed with the club).

Dogs or pets.
Costs:
The costs associated with our try shooting program are inclusive for the days activities:

First Visit - $90,
-
Second Visit - $60,
-
Third Visit - $60.
These fees include the cost of Range Fees, Ammunition (20 rounds), Rifle Hire and Rifle Maintenance.

Please Note:
In order to become a Member or Participate in a trial Shoot you will need to complete some paperwork on arrival at the range. A key requirement is that you need to be able to answer NO to the below questions (This is a Legal Requirement set by the NSW Police Firearms Registry):

Been refused or prohibited from holding a firearms licence or permit or had a firearms licence or permit suspended, cancelled or revoked?

Been subject of a Firearms Prohibition Order?

Within the last 10 years been convicted of an offence involving firearms, weapons, prohibited drugs, robbery, violence, terrorism or an offence of a sexual nature?
-
Within the last 10 years been the subject of a Family Law or Domestic Violence Order or an Apprehended Violence Order (other than an order that was revoked)?
-
Ever attempted suicide or self harm?
-
In the past 12 months been treated or referred for treatment for alcoholism, drug dependence or a mental illness within the meaning of the Mental Health Act 2007 or as a mentally disordered person within the meaning of that Act?

Currently subject to a Good Behavior Bond?
-
Currently subject to an Interim Apprehended Violence Order?

Currently suffering from any mental illness or other disorder that may prevent you from using a firearm safely?
IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO ANY OF THE ABOVE QUESTIONS, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN SHOOTING ACTIVITIES INVOLVING THE POSSESSION AND USE OF FIREARMS.
